Surgeons:
Most will only see Insured patients here; the uninsured patients should be triaged via TQEH. Ask our staff about exceptions.

Physicians: Private health insurance has no bearing on these consultations and patients are triaged by urgency. Please indicate this as required and advocate for your patient.

Very Urgent: There are some things, like a suspicious chest x-ray, that do require urgent attention.  By speaking with the manager and providing some clinical information, it may be possible for her to locate a doctor very quickly who will visit out of his/her normal session time in order to see your patient. Less experienced reception staff don’t always have the authority to do this. In some cases it may be that your patient will be referred to an Emergency Department, but do pursue a medical emergency.

Fees: Some services are Bulk Billed and many of our doctors will Bulk Bill pensioners. Otherwise private fees do apply and gaps vary between doctors – it is essential that your patient asks about fees.
